# Tokens

Ape Express gives creators the option to create the following type of tokens:

## Basic Token

A standard <mark style="color:blue;">**ERC-20 token**</mark> with extra features, offering a straightforward setup.

Vanilla ERC-20 with additional features.

The Basic Token adheres to the ERC-20 standard and includes additional features. All tokens are created with 18 decimal places, a standard that creators cannot modify.

<mark style="color:blue;">**Core Features:**</mark>

* Name: Creators can assign a name to the token.&#x20;
* Symbol: Also known as a ticker, creators can specify the token’s symbol.&#x20;
* Total Supply: Token supply is set to 1,000,000,000 tokens.&#x20;
* Decimals: All tokens issued using Ape Express have 18 decimals by default, which cannot be adjusted by the creator.&#x20;

## Token Types

&#x20;Ape Express is evaluating extra token types to integrate into the dApp in 2025.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.ape.express/token-creation/tokens.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
